I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight into the best way to expand my system. Which is a better configuration for addtional USB
ports. I already have 2, but I need 2 more. Should I buy a USB HUB or
get a USB - PCI controller card. Are there any advantages in a PCI controller card for this expansion?

Get a hub. PCI card uses up a slot, IRQ, resources. You also have to open the case and risk cutting your finger on a sharp edge. If it gets infected, you could get very sick, and spend time in the hospital, miss time at work, ruin your holiday season.

The hub is much less hassle! ;)

Not to mention, any accidental salivation discharge while inside your computer may alter its weight slightly, putting it off balance and causing a catastrophic failure of the support beams making up your living quaters, fatally crushing you and any other living creatures at or below your level as defined by the mean distance between you and the sea by ways of the Y-axis.

Yes, if you get a PCI card you're at serious risk of crushing yourself and your neighbours.

So get a hub. However, remember to get a powered up, since some USB devices draw a fair amount of power from the port. Add too many to a non-powered hub and you'll have problems, including blue screens. A powered hub will prevent some of these problems.
