My extra USB hub that comes with the NF7-S is all connected properly but simply doesnt work. I have Win XP PRO and SP1 installed and in Device Manager it says the all USB ports are working correctly even though nothing will work when it's plugged into them! This is bloody disastrous as all my devices are USB so it means i can only use my mouse and keyboard in the two main USB ports of the motherboard, but I can't use my printer or my webcam. The BIOS is correctly configured too, what possible reasons could there be for it not working? Has anyone experienced probs of this nature?

All answers greatly appreciated!

another bump

I am having this same problem. My case has two usb ports up front that work just fine along with the two that are part of the mobo. However, the two that are on the firewire/usb bracket don't work. any ideas?

Perhaps the connector is on backwards. They should be working fine if set up properly. I'm running 6 USB ports on the NF7-S and all of them work perfectly...

the problem with that suggestion is that the usb connector only works one way, there is a solid spot where there is no pin on the connector so you can only hook it in one way. I will try and dissonect and recconect later but as far as I remember you can't screw it up.

Anyway, if thats the reason mine won't work then I will happily eat my words in exchange for two more working USB ports. Thanks for the help

I have another question... how do you know if they are running USB 2.0? I installed the drivers and ran Sisoft Sandra and got some wierd results. It came up with 3 USB controllers, the first two have say version 1.0 and each have 3 channels. The third controller says version 2.0 and has 6 channels. are these the 6 channels on the mobo (two front, 4 back) and if so, what are those other groups of 3 channels? Thanks

Just to bring this post back from the dead, I'm having a very similar problem;

Shuttle FN45g board,
WinXP SP1 recognises all the USB ports,
the back two connectors work fine with any 2 of a mouse/scanner/printer, but the front two do nothing,
All connectors inside are connected,
co-incidentally, the back line out socket only gives 1 channel of sound, the front headphone out gives 2 channels. All mixer settings checked.

Currently running 2.45 nvidia drivers.

Hey guys, i'm new to this forum,
as i just bought my NF7-S and from what i can see, maybe it's a bios setting?!? have you tried the USB Support "From BIOS" or "From OS" ? Maybe try the other way that it's not?

Hope this helps!

Rich, Spike,

I had similar problems with USB on my NF7-S. Try unchecking "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" from the usbs root inside device manager. This LINK here may help. Lmk if it works!
