USB hub - mouse lag?

I get occasional stutters when I have my Logitech mouse plugged into my Dell 2005fpw's built-in USB 2.0 hub, but the problem disappears when I plug it directly into my computer. Keyboard gets finicky sometimes too. I've tried running them individually with the same problem. Would a different hub work?
