i need help. my usb ports seem to not want to work anymore. the only thing that has changed on my rig has been the addition of w2k in a dual boot set up. i haven't used or had anything connected to my usb ports in a while so i'm not sure when exactly it stopped working. but i just tried to hook up my scanner and nada, nothing, zip. well, actually, i install the scanner software, hook up the scanner, windows recognizes the scanner being plugged in, but then says it can't find the drivers and the scanner doesn't work. i borrowed a friend's camera and it does the same deal. install the software, hook up the camera, it gets recognized but then says it can't find drivers. Any ideas? thxn,

yes, i've updated the drivers, mainboard bios etc.

I've had the same thing happen

the problem for me turned out to be that w2k reconised the hardware and i then installed the software but the drivers did not load I had to go into control pannel dev. manager and reinstall the driver from there very strange.
its as if the low level support is not installed first time round
The situation seems to be worst when the device is plugged in before the system is booted
