USB headset conflicting with speakers.

I purchased a USB Rocketfish Gaming Headset w/ Microphone. It works amazingly, and has great audio both sound and mic. However, I can only hear out of it when my speakers are unplugged. Is this a common issue, I thought i'd be able to keep it plugged in, as well as my speakers and just switch back and forth..is this not the case?

Are you using onboard sound of your mobo? I've had that happen before where I have speakers and a usb headset plugged in. The computer would only load sound drivers for my onboard sound that the speakers were connected to or USB sound drivers for the headset.

I'm using an after market 5.1 sound card. I pretty much want to know, if there is anyway to tell my computer to send sound to both devices, since it's probably seeing that I have two sound cards..USB headset, and my actual card.
