USB , full or half-duplex and networking?

Is USB full or half-duplex?

If it's full duplex and it's bandwidth is limited to 12 Mbps, what is the advantage of a USB 10/100 USB ethernet adapter?

Thanks in advance.

Logically speaking (and i know it rarely applies) USB is a serial connection (uSb). And by definition serial is half-duplex.

The only advantage is USB attempts to be somewhat idiotproof. No opening the computer, nothing more than plugging it in.
