exactly...i'd rather pay a little extra for the option, and have it designed from the beginning, instead of buying an aftermarket one

 
dashboard display huh... that sounds scary for the person driving next to you. I'm afraid to think ALL cars will have these gadgets to play with someday.
 
am I the one don't care about car audio? I still have a casette radio, because I refuse to spend $50-100 to upgrade it. on the other hand, casette adapter works great.

A tape still doesn't hold 100+ songs like an mp3 CD will. Even more if you're willing to deal with lower quality, which you apparently are 😛
Lots of people don't care about it, you just don't hear them speak up much because they don't care 😉

realize that casettes are of low quality, even with a digital connection, right?
 
I had seen a car stereo at a local autoparts store that had a USB port for listening to stuff off a flash drive once. It didn't look like a high quality unit though.
