USB FM Tuner at low cost

Hi, I'm looking for a USB FM Tuner without TV that would cost 30 dollars or less, I knew a while ago compusa had something like this but they don't seem to carry it any longer. It's a gift for someone who uses a laptop, so I can't give them a PCI card obviously, and they said they don't really want it to have a TV tuner. If anyone can sugest a product to me it'd be much appreciated!

It needs to work well with Windows 2000, that's exactly the thing I was looking for, know of any stores that sell it? Online or offline

I would NOT recommend the Gentek or DLink USB FM Radio if you plan to use it with 2k or XP.

There are only 2k drivers. The drivers are VERY unstable in both 2k and XP. If you change the channel too quickly or use SCAN/Seek mode you'll get a blue screen 🙁

I speak from experience as I own the DLink Radio (both the Gentek and Dlink are the same hardware, just a different label on the radio, drivers are the same as well) I've tried every application that supports this radio and both drivers, all with the same result on both my very different systems. It works GREAT in 9x though, no problems whatsoever.

Hmm it wouldnt have something to do with an audio conflict would it? Because that would be really disappointing to have it work like that..

While I'd admit that I haven't used mine a ton, I too have the D-link radio, and it worked fine under WinXP when using the right software... the trick is to stay far, far away from D-link's software since it isn't really for XP anyways.

I don't think you will ever track one of these down retail since to my knowledge there have only been 2 usb radio only devices released, and both have been discontinued quite a long time 🙁
