USB floppy not recognized as A: on boot

I am attempting to install Win XP on a MSI K8N SLI mobo, using two drives RAID 1. I have setup the drives in BIOS and Raid configuration. However, when I get to the point in Windows setup to install the RAID drivers it needs to use the A: drive. My USB floppy drive isn't being recognized. Is there something in the BIOS that I am missing that will allow it to be recognized as A: before OS loads? or will I have to put a normal floppy into the system to just load the driver?

Thanks for any help.
