USB flash drive raid array in windows

I don't believe Windows will let you use removable drives in a software RAID array.

I know for firewire their is a registry setting to allow this, but I don't know if it can be applied to other drive types.

Considering the purpose for what raid arrays are used for, is it even a good idea to have it on a USB FLASH drive ?

No, I can't think of a single good reason for it besides maybe testing something.

indeed. I remember when I was just getting into testing stuff, I used a 1GB zip drive to do some test builds. I had various distros on various disks, and I'd select the zip drive in the BIOS. I got a perverse laugh out of telling win98 to eject itself

Hmmm... I thought so too. I do the same at my office (not for raid testing, but testing other stuff). In fact, we bought a corsair 4GB just for the purpose recently.
