I saw a neat USB flash drive trick - when I insert it into my laptop, it not only mounts the empty USB space but also mounts a CDFS image!

This is in Windows 2000.

Does anyone know how to partition a USB drive such that this is possible?

What flash drive do you have?? I've not had any of mine come up that way. Some of them have 'security' software/items on them that I usually get rid of pretty fast. I usually just format the drives so that they are better suited for what they will be used with/on. I've formatted a few for OS X and one or two for Windows (DOS format)... That makes the ones used under OS X mount faster and eject easier. Especially the larger ones (512MB)... Of course, for really large files, I use my external hard drives (laptop sized drives in enclosures not much larger than the drives). Comes in handy when you have a 40GB, 60GB and two 80GB drives readily available that only need to connect through a single port to get power and be used (FireWire port).

Anyway, I suggest doing a google search for the term it's using and read the hits...
