My dad's computer's Toshiba USB flash drive somehow is getting Logitch's webcam icon in My Computer.

How can I fix it?

  • Sounds like your dad may have had it in a camera and it is so configured. Your PC thinks it is a camera.. See if you can read the contents with an app that reads JPG files. If so, use it as is. The alternative is to reformat it as a generic USB flash drive. Doing that will lose all the imagery your dad had in it.

It's a new drive, nothing on it.

and a Logitech Webcam C510 on the same computer.

Anyway, I'll try reformat it again later.

OK - but to make sure, disconnect the webcam when you do it.

I tried the following steps earlier but didn't work, because even if I killed Explorer, there are still files in use by other processes, just don't know which one.

I can only remote control my dad's computer using TeamViewer now, will try again late in the night.

If it can't be fixed, then have to find a day to visit his apartment. But it's not urgent at all.
