USB Flash Drive Assignment ?

Senior member
My buddy called me this morning and asked if he can set a flash drive from g:\ or whatever it's assigned as to a:\ .. As I don't have a flash drive myself yet, I wasn't able to play around with it to help him figure out this question..

Does anybody know if this is possible, and if so, how?

He needs it to be a:\ because of some old software that he is running that only reads/writes to a:

Thanks for any suggestions,

Siao

Go to 'Start'... 'Administrative tools'... 'Computer Management'.

On the left side you should see an icon for 'Disk Management'.
Click it and look at your drives. Right click on them and you can change drive letters.

IF you dont have 'Admin Tools' available on your start menu: you can add them by right clicking on your task bar and going to 'Properties' and 'Customize'.
