USB Flash as a boot drive?

I heard it told that it can be done. Maybe XP or 2000? How about a command line of Win98?

i have my usb as a emergence boot disk........ising 98 boot floppy as image......i heard there is a version of knoppix fr flash disk's

one more thin....if u r usin 98 than during one single boot only there will be lots of read write cycles....whiich will further reduce life of ur flash drive
