I would go with the ADS simply because I never heard of the other one. :)

Dakota24, I have em both and they perform the same although the ADS is more sturdier and Heavier/Larger

i have the bytecc one. i got it from dealsonic also. it's amazing. works flawlessly. i have a 180gb HD in there and it's amazing. works on both usb2.0 and firewire just fine.

thanks. i actually have a bytecc 3.5" usb 2.0 enclosure (me-320) that i got from newegg. i was most curious about the performance. but you have a good reason to get the ads vs the bytecc. since sturdier/heavier would probably suit the dvd drive much better since it's alittle more delicate than a hard drive. and that reminded me that trying to get those side rails off the bytecc enclosure is a b*tch! :)
