I plan on taking videos from my vcr and my video camera and using Creative Labs Video Blaster MovieMaker to convert tapes to files. I believe this thing uses a USB interface. Creative Labs Video Blaster MovieMakerMy system is going to be for ripping dvds/vhs tapes and online gaming w/ duel processors and loads of ram.

Is SCSI only for hardware like DVD, CDRom(/RW), and Hard drives?

If that's true, then the best setup would be having a SCSI Hard drive (real fast rpm and lots of storage) and this Creative Labs Video Blaster MovieMaker. Right?

I could be wrong but right now 1394 aka Firewire is the fastest way to get Audio or Video in your system

<<Video Capture Formats MPEG-1: 352x240 resolution with 0.5-2.0Mb/second bit rate MPEG-2: 352x480 resolution with 1Mb-6.0Mb/second bit rate>>

Specs. from creative, guess thats what you get with USB

Depends on device specs overall SCSI smokes USB...my SCSI CF reader clocks in at 4MB/s...the USB ones max out at 1.2MB/s, after my 128MB CF card has taken 32 secs to download, the USB reader still has 75 more secs to go!

:)

Now if Windows only supported Tagged Command Queueing and other true Multi-tasking O/S tidbits.

Well if I don't go with Creative, how else would I be able to get video from my camera and vcr into my pc? It's easy if u have a DVD cuz you pop in the disk and use a program.

I want to know what I need to do it all. I want to record tv, vhs, and dvd.

Do I do this through a video card?

yes, i think you need to purchase a special kind of card (content creation cards, or something like that i think they are called), which uses several inputs (composite, firewire, etc)
