USB Experts: Coloring of wires

<< Can someone tell me the color scheme for USB cables? >>

Have you checked your motherboard manual? Most will tell you what the pins correspond to. From there, you could consult the following:

Red: Positive wire (+5V)
Black: Ground wire (some USB connectors have 2 for each connector)
White or Blue: USBD3+/USBD3-

You might have to re-arrange the wires within the USB connector that came with your case. I've experienced two different pin-out patterns with my ECS motherboard and then my Shuttle motherboard. If you have to change the pin order on the connector, you just use a small needle to release the connector from the black casing. Then, move it over to the appropriate slot on the casing and push it into place.
