Are you sure you connected the NX500 to the Nighthawk for the speedtests? I'm kinda having my doubts.

Regardless, this tutorial should help you set up the Nighthawk. After that is setup you should follow your manual for the WLAN setup. If you don't have the physical manual, you can view the PDF from Netgear here.

No, I didn't. Sorry for misunderstanding. I connected to wi fi via Huawei. Now I am trying to connect via Nighthawk.

How do I disable wifi on Hauwei, btw?

Here's a generic guide to Huawei routers/modems. Follow that guide to connect and try the username/password listed for that model (telecomadmin/admintelecom). If that password doesn't work, look for a sticker on the device for a unique username/password. Once you log in, it should be self-explanatory. If the default password doesn't work, and there is no password sticker, then the ISP probably doesn't want you changing anything and it shouldn't hurt to just leave Wifi enabled.

Under the WLAN page, you should be able to disable Wifi.

Warning: If you are connecting to the Huawei directly via Wifi, once you disable WLAN you will not be able to connect again without a wired connection. You will still be able to connect wirelessly through the Nighthawk if the Nighthawk is setup correctly.

Thanks for the tip.

So do I just click delete in order to disable the wi fi or just untick the enable box on the left?

Before I continue, I'd like to clarify smth. After I disable the wifi, I then go to genie settings and start tinkering with Nighthawk settings. What sort of information I should have when entering the new information in the settings? Also, how do I restart the settings? I mean the guy who installed it from the phone company did enter some information and I don't know what it was.

Sorry about all these questions, but when it comes to wi fi, it's a complete blur to me lol

I can't view that image, it's just a thumbnail.

Before you disable the Huawei Wifi, I recommend setting up the Nighthawk. As for the info the technician entered, it's probably just basic configuration related to the previous ISP. You'll just set it up to connect WAN via DHCP, and then configure (or reconfigure) WLAN for b/g/n (2.4GHz) and another WLAN for AC (5GHz). If wireless was working before then you shouldn't have to change the WLAN settings, just the WAN settings. If WAN was previously setup to connect via DHCP then you may not have to change anything.

Now that I can see the screen, you should just untick the enable box and save the settings. If, for any reason, you wish to go back to the Huawei for Wifi you'd just have to change it back to enabled.
