USB Electric-Eye/Remote Sensor- Need Suggestions

Hey guys,

We just set up a new display at work with two 41" Hitatchi Plasma screens and three 15" LCD montors. The problem is the Plasmas are constantly repeating the same demo movies and even though they are only a few minutes long, the screen is already starting to get burned in. I don't know if this is because Plasmas are more sensitive or they selectively refresh or what, but the LCDs are fine.. although they are displaying new info all the time, not just demos.

My question is: Does anybody know of a device that will say, plug into the USB port and sense when somebody walks into the lobby area and then acts like a mouse and brings the monitor out of standby? I'd like to find something that we can use to shut the screens off automatically when nobody is around without having to shutdown the computers. I thought about wiring a electric-eye into the wiring for the receptacle, but the way the screens are hung, that might be a pain. Any other suggestions would really help. Thanks.
