Hi I have an old 256MB, transcend USB drive.

When inserted the drive is detected as Virtual CD/DVD Drive.
Drive model is

JetFlash A
TS256MJFLASHA
256MB

http://www.transcendusa.com/Support...ID=TS256MJFLASHA&axn=SRH1_RLT&DLKeyWd=TS256MJ

Tried to format it with manufacturer program but it is still detected as Virtual CD/DVD Drive.

Windows give this error message every time it is inderted/removed
RSM could not load media in drive Drive 0 of library TS256MJFLASHA USB Device.

Hard to say - but see if you can format it using Explorer to FAT 32.
