I just got a USB hub since I recently got a USB printer. I left my mouse on one of the USB ports on the computer and plugged the USB hub into the other one. On the hub itself, I have my USB DSL modem and my HP Printer. However, it seems that my internet connection is slower than before. I went to a DSL speed test page and before I got the hub I was getting about 1100 mbps download and now I am only getting about 500 mbps download.
(1) Maybe I just picked a bad time to test, but does using a USB hub typically slow the attached devices down?
(2) Should I plug all my devices (mouse, modem, printer) into the hub with the hub being the only cable into the computer or is there a better setup than the way I have it now?
I know one thing for sure: the USB hub is going out the window if it truly does cause the DSL modem to be slower. . . .
