I've had my amd64 3400+ for quite some times now, but lately i have noticed that whenever i use usb devices that draw power from the computer my cpu temp rises. i first noticed this when connecting my cellphone to transfer ring tones and wallpapers. i noticed it again when i first got my ipod. now i notice it wheenver i use my lis2 lcd display device (usb connected).

i was wondering if anyone else with an amd64 have noticed that the cpu temp increases when powering usb devices, though cpu usage remains the same. i've done the same things on my athlon xp 2700+ and this did no happen.

Strange...when I connect my USB-cell (Nokia 9300), RMclock gives my CPU a little slap on the butt. However, it immediately returns to full idle (meaning 1GHz and 1.0v)...no temp impact...

yeah it is rather strange. i tried running pcmark with the usb peripherals on, and the pcmark2004 scores did not change on or off. Load temps did not change either, still 45C. It's just that it idles at 42C and then loads at 45C, but I lose no performance.
