USB device toggles itself for no reason in 2K pro

I have a multiport USB adapter plugged in to the motherboard (Dragon+) USB port #2. Periodically the sytem says it recieves a removal notification for one of the USB devices connected to that adapter ( the Compact Flash /Smart Media reader).

THis only occurs when I am not using any of the USB devices on that port. If I unplug and reconnect all is well - but irritating nonetheless. It happens sporadically - sometimes thre times in a day, sometimes not for 2 weeks.

Any ideas?

Maybe a power issue? If all the USB devices are powered through the motherboard, you might try a powered USB hub to supply power to the devices. Could also be a driver problem.
