i have a Brother 2280DW laser printer.
I plugged it into my desktop's usb port. (Desktop running win7 pro.)

as the computer was trying to recognize it, power went out.
now I get 'usb device not recognized.'

I installed the latest driver.
I tried different usb ports.
delete/uninstall.
lots of reboots.
still the same.

it can connect to my desktop wirelessly.
but I want usb too incase there's a problem w/the router.
murphy's law= when I NEED to print, router dies.

seems like it's corrupted?
suggestions?

sounds like some damage incurred, power usually goes out because a surge blows a fuse.

Great illustration of the value of a UPS. I had this happen to a wireless laser pointer device, and it burned up the USB receiver module belonging to the device. Now useless until I can replace it. You may be stuck with the wireless link.
