USB Cable Question

Hello,

I was wondering if I can use a USB A to A type cable to transfer info from my laptop to my tower? I plug it in and nothing happens. Is there a program I need to get or can it just not be done?
Thanks for the info.

The crossover cable will work.

Alternatively, if both computers are connected to a router via regular ethernet cable, you can easily set up a home network to share files between both computers. This will also allow you to share some peripherals like a printer. This is specially effortless to set up (in my experience!) if both PCs are running Windows XP, though I also have done it with an old laptop running W98SE to pull the files to my XP Pro box.
