Hiya,
I have a new iMac 27" with two USB 3.1 gen 2 type C ft Thunderbolt 3 ports. I need to connect a 4K display (I've ordered an Anker adapter for this) and a TB3-TB2 adapter connected to a TB1-FW800 adapter. All good, until I realized it'd be neat to have a free USB 3.1 gen 2 port to connect an upcoming external SSD work disc such as the SanDisk 900.
Are there USB 3.1 gen 2 hubs on the market? Do any of them support (or do the USB 3.1 type C connector itself support) Alternate Mode passthrough? I.e. could I connect the hub to my iMac and then connect the Anker USB-C to HDMI Adapter and SanDisk SSD to the hub?
