I have a soyo mobo (at) that doesn't have an external usb connector, it does have a 9 pin usb connector on the mobo. Can I use a 9 pin usb bracket from an Asus mobo on the Soyo board?

What board? Check the usb pin out if available in the manual. Then check the asus one to see if it matches. I would hope that they had a standard configuration they had to use. Then any usb bracket would work

If the pinouts are different, you can change the mobo connector end to match the mobo.

It should work, most mobo 9- pin outs are the same as are the 2 USB connector cables that got to the 2 usb jacks.

Thats not true, esp. for AT boards. Check the pin out in the manual and alter the wires on the bracket.

There was a website that showed how to do all this. I just can't remember where.

I found it: linky
