USB Beverage Cooler!

I didn't find any other threads about this so I apologize if it's a repost or old news.

I was reading "The Week" during my lunch break and came across a blurb for this technological marvel: CoolIT USB Beverage Cooler

Just seconds after plugging the chiller into your computer?s USB port (no external outlet needed), the coldplate chills to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the perfect temperature for keeping your beverage chilled.
Now, how well this thing actually works is another question, but for $20-$40 (froogle) it's worth a shot! Someone else has to have already thought of this, but I haven't seen it before...

 FTW!

they invented something called ICE. it doesn't use USB though.

 + ice = :disgust:.

if you aren't drinking your beer fast enough that it's gets warm, you need to turn in your man card

unless of course you're drinking guiness...mmm

ever heard of double fisting? one in progress, keep the reserve can/bottle on the usb cooler.

obviously it would make more sense (and be cheapest) to get a styrofoam cooler, throw in some ice and whatever beverages you wanted, or go all out and get a mini fridge to put next to your computer, but this usb cooler is still "cool."

What USB are they going to come out with next? (current: Foreman grill, cooler, heater, fans, lights, sushi/ducks...)

Real beer tastes better as it gets warmer than it does ice cold.

I'm amazed that they can get to that low of a temperature using only the wattage from a USB port. All it is I'm thinking is a mini peltier, but peltiers require a lot of wattage I think to be even mildly effective?
