I have a troubling issue with the USB on one of my motherboards and I really don't know how to fix it or what the problem is.
I have two computes at my office. One computer has an ASUS P4S5233-MX with a 2.4 gig Celeron in it. I use WebcamXP Pro and have 3 web cams hooked up on it and it runs very smooth. The second computer at my office is a Biostar GeForce 6100-M9 with a 2.2 gig AMD NewCastle 3500+. This computer is running 2 web cams smoothly and would run a third it I needed it.
The above computers are using various web cams...Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000, Walmart MicroInnovations cheap-o, Logictech Quickcam Pro 3000...etc.
PROBLEM:
Now here is my problem. I have a computer at home that I am trying to hook up more than 1 web cam to and I keep getting a USB bandwidth error (something like maximum bandwidth exceeded) when I connect the second web cam. This happens regardless of what combination of web cams I use.
This home computer is an MSI Neo 4 Platinum SLI with an AMD 4400+ X2 cpu in it. What I can't understand is why these cheaper or lesser motherboards can handle 2 or 3 web cams and this expensive (in its day) MSI motherboard cannot support more than one web cam. The only other USB item plugged into this board is a USB mouse.
Anyone got any suggestions? I really would like to have 3 web cams on this pc.
