When I built my last system with an Abit KT7- Raid, I had very good luck with everything except the onboard USB. I have a printer, scanner, and camera that use USB. I (and many of you on this forum -- thanks!!) spent MANY MANY hours trying to get it to work, with no luck. I finally found a web site here that was a tremendous help and recommended a PCI 4 port card. Instantly my USB problems were gone!! I have never had any problems since, no matter how many USB devices I use at the same time.

Anyway, I am building a new system and have decided on the Abit KR7A-133Raid. My question is, have the USB problems been fixed on this new board or do I need to plan on using another PCI - USB card? I would like to free up a slot if I can.

I had similar USB trouble with my intellimouse explorer on the KT7, so I know exactly what you have dealt with. I have neither faced, not heard of any USB problems on this board. Remember, the KR7 is a completely different board, subject to different quirks, for different reasons. You should be fine with the onboard USB.

No the intellimousedidn't die on me, I was always able to bring my mouse back by unpligging it a few times and plugging it back in, but I have no issues with the exact same mouse on this board. (Trust me, I have had 4 intellimouse explorers die on me before
