USB 3 thumb drive backwards compatibility

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a usb 3 thumb dive in a usb 1 or 1.1 port? I know it will be real slow but if it doesn't work at all it would be a disappointment.

Thanks

I don't think so. There's no real reason to not add a card that has a USB 3 port or two. I do know that a USB 3 thumb drive will work in a USB 2 slot, albeit slow. 1 or 1.1 is too much of a stretch.

It is. I tested it myself with a number of USB 3.0 flash drives on an old laptop's USB 1.1 ports. Power specs didn't change between 1.1 and 2.0.
