USB 3.0 hubs, USB 2.0 devices, and 2.4Ghz wifi

I recently purchased some tablets that have a USB 2.0 host port on them. I want to purchase a USB hub with dedicated charging ports to power the tablet. I also want to use a USB 3.0-capable external HDD and a Logitech wireless keyboard + mouse with Unifying nano-reciever, which is USB 2.0, and uses 2.4Ghz wireless, and an AC1200 USB 3.0 WiFi dongle.

If I plug a USB 3.0 hub's upstream port into a USB 2.0 host port, will all of the downstream USB 3.0 ports revert to USB 2.0 signalling? Or will the hub use USB 3.0 signalling for the external HDD and AC1200 wifi, thus interfering with the 2.4Ghz Unifying receiver?

For those that don't know, USB 3.0 signalling interferes with 2.4Ghz wireless.

I see.
@4' the mouse still works perfectly, but @6' is very erratic.
Just that quick.
Thanks, I switched back to Bluetooth 😉

As to your OP, anything downstream will be the same as the port it's plugged into (i.e. 2.0) and that also means the charging port on that hub will be low power, unless it has an external power supply.
