A x1 slot would not be sufficient, it tops out at 500MB/sec (half that for PCIe 1.x). On current computers you'd need an x4 (or larger) slot to feed it.
Are you sure about that? AFAIK PCIe 2.0 is not limited to specific devices. Anything built for it can use it, but really no one except the aforementioned devices are using it.Originally posted by: tcsenter
