USB 2 Flashdrive giving a "device speed" error

I've checked and rechecked all of my driver settings, re-installed USB drivers from Windows and my Mobo CD and I still keep getting that "Device can perform faster" error.

It only happens with my Flashdrive...not any other drive. You'd think it's the drive itself, but isn't that a little bizarre, for the drive to work, but at a reduced speed.

Thoughts?

I just had the same problem. I had an internal Athenatech 22-in-1 flash drive and kept getting the "Device can perform faster" message pop up. As it turned out replacing the flash frive stopped the error message and everything is working like it should now.

Thanks Slik! I'm probably going to end up getting a new drive, but for the time being, that really helps lessent the annoyance of that damn message 😱)

Thanks!!!
