USB 2.01 or 1.1?

😕I presently have a printer and a modem hooked into my PC's 2 USB slots, one of which is a 2.0 and the other a 1.1. I've just purchased a hub and want to be sure I plug the hub into the 2.0 slot. The question is: How do I know which is which? Thank you very much.
 
If you plug a usb 2 device into a 1.1 port windows xp will usually pop up a window telling you that the device is plugged into a slow port. No pop up means you got the 2.0 port.
