USB 2.0 worth waiting for?

isn't the usb controller separate?

anyway, i'd rather have any board or expansion card with NEC's chip, which has 2 1.1 and 1 2.0 controllers which makes it easier.

I believe 2.0 is backwards compatible....However if the USB device is not 2.0 enabled it will not take advantage of the higher transfer rate...

I think all chipsets will support 2.0.....it's not a function of the chipset...

well i wont really look forward to USB

i hate anything that use the CPU heavily when transfering data

(eg, i hate USB 1.0)

Dunno, 480m/sec is pretty attractive, and it isn't supposed to utilize the processor the way that usb 1.x did either. We'll have to wait and see the processor utilzation under load before that determination can be made. I'm personally remaining skeptical, but it could be a very useful bus architecture.

Seems like a small thing to wait for, what with all the other aspects of a PC to really be concerned about.
