USB 2.0 Techgear and Ipod mini

I bought a techgear PCI 2.0 USB card and it won't recognize my Ipod correctly. Only the 1.1 port work with my Ipod. The 2.0 card is shown as working fine in windows. I dont get it. Any suggestions are welcome what a waste. Apple never says the ipod is backwards compatible but I know ppl who use 1.1 for their pods.

Also, are you running Win9x (including ME!)? If so, I don't know anything to help you at all. If you're running Win2k or XP, then:

What chipset? If it's ALi, I'd return it and get another one (NEC should be easy to find).

Yeah its ALI I believe but there has to be away to fix it. It worked like once. I think off of reboot but it since has not it will show disconnect and then come back to music menu. Some other have to have this problem. Or anyone else who knows more about add-on cards. Ideas anyone ??

Try a NEC-based USB card. If that doesn't work right, then the card isn't the problem.
