This is my first Asus MoBo having a problem involving USB 2.0 support.

The M2N32-SLI powered up "OK", XP was then installed followed with Service Pack-2. I then

ran the Asus setup CD to install drivers etc. After initial tests I checked Device Manager

and was suprised to see two yellow question marks, one was: ? USB Controller and two was: ?

Mass Storage Device. Copying files from a USB 2.0 flash memory stick was preceded with

Microsoft's warning about high speed device connected to low speed port and the speed was

indeed slow. I reformated the hard drive and repeated the XP install etc. to no avail.

I really like this motherboard, all's well except for this USB flaw. I,m considering

returning the board for replacement.

Any suggesstions?

I would use the device manager in the windows control panel to update the driver. I use win 2k, but you may find similar procedures with xp or vista. My computer>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>highlight device with yellow mark>action>properties>driver>update driver>next>search for a suitable driver for my device>asus cd. Manually loading the driver this way sometimes works.

Thanks o1die, but there is no USB 2.0 controller driver on the Asus disc. The Microsoft Service Pack 2 supplies this, but somehow the Asus motherboard is blocking this. I guess I'll just pack the board up and return to New Egg.

I would try loading it manually anyway. It may be part of the chipset driver. You can also post your problem at the asus forum.

Perhaps updating the BIOS will fix this, or even checking the BIOS and checking to be sure everything is correct.
