My System:

2.6@3.06 @1.50v (actual)
(234/186 = 5:4) 2-5-2-2 GAT = Turbo - A-A-D-D @ 2.74V actual
Abit IS7 1.6 bios
2x256 Geil PC3500 Ultra Platinum
80gb WD 8mb + 8gb samsung 5400rpm
Radeon 8500
Liteon 52x24x52
Liteon DVD 16x

I have 2 problems:

1. In Device Manager my USB ports have a question mark over them and display "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" I found out i need patch 822603 from Microsoft but I dont have the prerequisite Service Pack 1 since I have a burnt copy of XP professional so it wont let me install either

Also in Sisoftware Sandra it shows in Mainboard Information that USB Controllers 1 - 4 are 1.1 version and support from Low 1.5mbps to Full 12mbps and only 1!!!! USB controller 5 shows as 2.0 version with Full support for 480mbps

I thought Abit IS7 has more than 1 USB 2.0 port???? (I even have the bracket with additional 2 USB 2.0 ports - how come?)

how do i fix this problem Abit website doesnt seem to have teh drivers

2. My second problem is that when i burn/copy a CD it takes me from 7 - 8 min at 52x on Memorex 52 CDs and before i reformatted my HD it took 2:30 and 3:05 respectively. I have DVD rom as Master and CD-writer as slave on 1 cable and 2 hard drives on another should i have (1 hd + 1 rom) x 2 on separate cables??? and also NEITHER ROMS show up in My Bios

and when the burning occurs i get yellow with alternating Red meaning it skips when it burns?? why does it show red ... its supposed to be yellow and green...

Please help with these 2 problems

My suggestion is to do a fresh install of Windows, if you can. You really should have Service Pack 1 which needs to be installed right after your OS.

Not sure why your ROMS are not showing up in the BIOS. You should go back into the BIOS and make sure all the settings are correct.
