I purchased a cheap PCI USB 2.0 card from SVC.com over a year ago since my motherboard only has 4 USB ports. Over the past few months the card has acted flaky so I thought I would look into buying a new one.

This card I have now has 4x External and 1x Internal USB ports. One thing I haven't liked since I've had it is the number 4 external port doesn't work if anything is plugged into the internal port.

I would like to have something that all 5 work simultaneously since I have a lot of USB peripherals to plug in. If anyone could recommend a quality PCI card that has 5+ USB ports on it I would really appreciate it.

I bought this 5+1 Adaptec a couple of years ago, worked great. Hard to go wrong with Adaptec, it uses an NEC chipset.

I'm pretty sure that for every +1 card, the last external port does not function if the internal port is in use.

Thanks Slugbait! That looks like the perfect one.

MasterYoda34: Haha, I have a USB hub already. I run my homebuilt cockpit for my race/flight simulators and have around 9 USB devices to plug in. Several of those won't run correctly when plugged into a hub hence the need for a card.
