I think this was posted in chabbywallet, but I think this is a good device so....

for me, total came out to be around $24
the stuff will come with a power adapter and usb-to-ide cable, and 3.5"-2.5" converter.
the trasfer rate is 21MB on my 3 years old WD 80AB (do not ever try to use this on USB1.1 ->~1MB).
Since this stuff doesn't come with enclosure, you don't wanna use it for long operation (heat issue), but if you just wanna switch to other devices (laptop harddrive, or if you have many low capacity hard drives) for backup puropose, this does a great job.
