USB 2.0 Driver for Windows XP SP3?

sometimes when i plug in certain USB peripherals, i get a pop up saying xxx can work better if it was plugged into a USB 2.0 slot, etcetc...

where/how can i check to see if i have the USb 2.0 driver? if not, where can i install it?

That message can be ignored. What it means is that you are using a USB 1.1 port that is still active, or a USB 1.1 device. It works - ignore the message. Assume you also have USB 2.0 ports? XP has all the USB drivers needed.

the free-light-and-portable system information tool SIW can help you with that. if you get it, head it to HARDWARE > PORTS > USB.

alternatively, you can check the specification of your motherboard at the manufacturer's website.

i've never heard of this program before? can anyone give me some more info or some insight on it?
