USB 1.1 or 2.0 card for old Pentium.Pro w/ W98 and plenty of ram?
Which would be best?
Back when..., we bought 3 of these PCs for our business.
Now each has it's own printer, scanner and cable modem.
One already has a Dlink USB 1.1 card and it's doing fine.

We were going to buy another but thought it best to get a usb 2.0 card incase later we want to relocate the card into a new box for usb 2.0 devices.

First off, will the 2.0 card work in this pc with it's OS.
Second, which brand is best to buy? Newegg has a Koutech 4+1 Port USB 2.0 PCI Host Controller Model KW-2580N and a
USB 2.0 PCI card, 5-Port(4 external + 1 Internal). With software. Retail. unit without a brand name.

The last thing I want is to return something that doesn't configure.

Well, I bought the Koutech 4+1 USB 2.0 PCI Host Controller Model #KW-2580N4 and there's problems.
I installed it into the box with the Intel VS440FX mobo for the Pentium Pro 200 and Win98 recognized it right away. HOwever, it repeatedly asks for the drivers and then the Win98 CD and reboots and again reports it has found new hardware and repeats the installation. This will apparently repeat as long as I'm willing to let it.
Meanwhile, if I cancel the action and enter Device Manager there are 4 USB entries with two of them listed as having a problem. The good ones mention NEC and the other two refer to USB uhhhh, you know, the node thing. Well, those are listed as having been installed bad or just not working.
Help, please.
