Can USB 2.0 work at 2.0 speeds through a 1.0/1.1 cable? What are the phsyical differences betweent hese cables? Hwo do you visually tell a difference between these cables? And finally, how can you tell which mode you peripheral is workin in, on Windows XP?
USB2.0 can work through the higher quality USB1.1 cables and the physical difference between them and low quality USB1.1 cables are/is the wire thickness and USB 2.0 cables usually state that they are certified on them...XP will list the device and type.
The easiest way is go to the Device Manager and look @ the USB controllers as they will ID some devices and another way is to check the Device Properties itself...finally follow the device your plug to USB port and figure from there and check the device drivers.
