Hi, I'm moving to Thailand next year and I am planning to bring my desktop with my (but selling the monitor away). However, I am aware that the voltage of countries in Asia are not the same as it is in America, so will it be OK/safe if I find and electric converter to and plug it through the adapter to use the computer in Thailand?

Your reply would be much appreciated

You really should contact someone in Thailand to get their line voltage and frequency, then contact you computer's manufacturer (or the PSU manufacturer if it's a custom built) and see if it's compatible. There is a 220volt switch on the back of most PSUs. All you may need to do is but a power cable with the local power plug on the end.

stores in thailand should sell a transformer box sort of thing (my grandma's house has such a sort in Vietnam), it should convert 220/240 to 110/120.

My brother took his desktop to South Korea, and when he got there just bought a new power supply from the local computer store, worked fine!
