Hi,
I've got like 512 megs of PC100 sitting around - it's fairly good quality (2 128 sticks of good cas2 pc100, 1 256 of pc133) ram, but since I've changed over to athlon MPs, this ram, left over from two old boxes, is sitting in a very old machine. (an old Celly 266 oc'd to 448). Sure, it's stable and all, but I want to use that machine for something better than ... email. I could put it in a P3 (even a dual p3) but some of my buddies have been telling me that there's a way to get pc100 running on a system with an AthlonXP - Is this possible? If so, can you give me the name of a motherboard or motherboard chipset which will permit me to do this? THey were suggesting that one of the older Athlon chipsets will support this sort of thing.

it wouldnt be worth buying a moboard to save pc100 that might not even run well @ 133.

if you have that many spare parts - sell them in the for sale/trade forum.
then go get yourself a DDR system ;)

I have 256 of 133, and 256 of pc100 cas2. I think the pc100 should run up to 133. I can try oc ing it. But what I care about is if there is a mobo that will run athlon XP with pc133/pc100 ram. If so, what is it?

The ECS K7S5A board has both SDRam and DDR slots for memory(can only use one or the other) and it's relatively inexpensive, so you could use those PC100 dimms with a Duron or such, and upgrade later. ;)

Yes, PC100 CAS2 should run fine at PC133 CAS3.
