Shame on you. You know that threads about actual important people don't get much love. Yet when dipshits like Trident post, it gets page after page. People like trainwrecks.

I thought this would be about the smokejumper rescue a USAF team pulled off last year (two years ago?) where the smokejumper was hung up in a tree with a broken leg. The Air Force guys long lined in from a helicopter, splinted, backboarded, and started an IV on the smokejumper all while still hanging on their lines and then wisked him away.

watched about 3 minutes of it. That was enough to see some really strong guys showing mad abilities and skills. I feel lucky if I can get a breath and freedive down to about 15 feet and have a short look around. Takes a pretty good rock to get my fat arse down there too :p

I have no doubt they're badasses, but swimming 50m+ underwater can be done by anyone on a college swim team.

The most impressive underwater feat:

This, when I was doing USA swimming several times we would do 50 meter swims under the water. One of the guys did a 75 meter swim under the water. I only did 50 meter swims under the water. Just took some breath control and conditioning and it wasn't that hard.

That's cute. They do it in a pool.

Meanwhile, Navy SEAL trainees get helo'd out to sea, and dropped in the water, and told to swim back. But I'm sure they've got it made, since they don't have to worry about the chlorine making their eyes turn all red, huh??
