usable space on 500/750GB drives?

anyone know what the "real" space on 500GB and 750GB drives are?

I need to add some more storage to my desktop and I can't decide on which drive would be the best bang for the buck for me.

750,000,000,000/1024^3 = 698GB
500,000,000,000/1024^3 = 465GB

If memory serves me correctly 250GB is seen as 236GB.
So 472GB and 708GB respectivly.

So I remembered 236 and its 232, oh well.

250 GB = 232 GiB also.
