Usable SATA slots on board - Not locked?

HI all,
My current mobo an MSI Neo2 Plat AGP 939 board has 4 SATA slots. I can only use 3,4 if I overclock as 1.2 are not locked. Hence if I try to hook up a drive to those two slots it crashes when I run my x2 3800+ at 10X250. Now.. if anyone can help -- if I switch to a new board going the PCI express way, are there still boards that have SATA slots which are not locked and will cause issues if I OC?? Was that just a limitation of my chipset on my board or specific to my Neo2 Plat?

If I buy the newer Asus A8R32-MVP or the A8R-MVP or the A8N32-SLI.. do all those have all usable SATA slots even if you OC?

thanks!

Robert

Yes.

On nForce 4 & ATi's chipsets, the SATA ports are all locked AFAIK anyway.

I haven't yet heard of anyone having issues with them not being locked.
