USAA car loan....

Is it at all possible to get a car loan from USAA without being eligible to become a member? I called them straight up to ask, and they said no. However, I have a friend who insists that I'm wrong, and so was the representative.

Now, my theory is that since her bf's name is on the car, who IS elibigle through his father, that's how she got the loan. Or maybe through some other loop hole his father knows about (yeah, I could ask him, but ATOT is easier.. I rarely run into him).

Anyone care to shed some light?

From FW USAA thread:

Eligibility Requirements
To get property or casualty insurance from usaa, you have to have a military affiliation.

However, anyone can bank with usaa, even those with no military affiliation at all. Just call 1-800-531-2265 and ask for a member number to gain access to the full website.

i'm usaa and I can personally vouch they won't touch you without any service into your country. Enlisting won't hurt you 😉

Well, dependents of service personnel, like myself, also benefit.
